The Higher School of International Relations and Diplomacy (ESRID) originated from a vision conceived in the early 2010s: to provide Togo and West Africa with an academic institution of excellence dedicated to understanding the contemporary world and training leaders capable of influencing major international trends.
Officially founded in Aného, a historic city and cultural crossroads of Togo, ESRID was conceived as a bridge between Africa and the rest of the world, a place where diplomacy, strategic research, and regional integration converge.
Over the years, the school has established itself as a space for reflection, analysis, and multidisciplinary training, bringing together academics, diplomats, international experts, and professionals from regional organizations.
Its ambition has always been clear: to train a new generation of change agents, capable of addressing the geopolitical, economic, and security challenges of the 21st century, while also championing the development aspirations of the African continent.
Driven by the major priorities of the African Union and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, ESRID has progressively strengthened its educational offerings to become a leading institution in training for careers in diplomacy, regional integration, and international development.
It is within this dynamic of innovation and excellence that ESRID is launching its Master’s program in International Relations and Diplomacy (RID) for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This program marks a significant milestone in the institution’s evolution: it embodies the commitment to providing high-level training aligned with the major geopolitical, economic, and institutional transformations of the continent.
Today, ESRID continues its commitment: to offer a modern, rigorous, and globally oriented environment where future diplomats, analysts, consultants, public policymakers, and international experts can be trained to international standards and, in turn, contribute to shaping Africa’s future.
